Inspiring Conversations with Austin Shake

Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Shake.

Hi Austin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Monterey, California in a large Italian family. In my youth, I worked at my Dad’s various restaurants and businesses. This is where I was first introduced to being an entrepreneur. After graduating from the University of Arizona and receiving my degree in Business Management, I dove into the world of real estate.

In 2019, I got my real estate license and started selling homes across Southern California. When I started I lived in Newport Beach, but did a lot of my business in Los Angeles. This led me to fall in love with the city and the fast pace this market brings. So now, I live and work in LA. I’m on The Altman Brothers Team, and last year we closed over $1.3 billion in sales.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s never a smooth road, especially in real estate. When I started I had trouble getting my first deals going, and that can be discouraging when your income is commission-based. But as you start building momentum and getting your clients, it all becomes worth it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in the luxury real estate market in Los Angeles. We put our clients in the best position to make a deal, whether that be buying or selling. By providing an expertise in marketing and negotiation, we’re able to set ourselves apart from anyone in the market.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was very outgoing. I actually got in trouble in school for talking so much. That’s probably why I chose a career centered around meeting new people.
