Inspiring Conversations with Amber Ryland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Ryland.

Hi Amber, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I moved to Los Angeles nearly 15 years ago, like most, for the entertainment industry. I spent years in entertainment journalism hobnobbing with A-listers at exclusive Hollywood parties and events before becoming an editor of both online and magazine publications.

After several years, I transitioned over to television where I became a producer. It was all very exciting and fun, but after I got married and we started having children I wanted something with more work-life balance and no glass ceiling in terms of income.

Real estate had been the end game my entire life, I just got a little distracted by the glitz and glam of Hollywood. So when my last show ended I declined to take another and opted to get my real estate license instead and start my own business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The pandemic became a larger speed-bump in my plan for real estate success than I had anticipated.

I got my license just before Covid-19 hit, so once we were on lockdown it was impossible for me to go out and meet people and get my real estate business going. Instead, I focused on learning as much as I could.

Once the world opened up again, I got out of the house and my business took off!

We’ve been impressed with your work, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a realtor, I help people in the purchase, sale, or investment of residential real estate — whether it’s in the luxury market or a townhouse for a first-time buyer. What sets me apart and has really made my business a success, is that I am relationship-focused.

My priority is the client, as a person. Buying or selling a home can be one of the most complicated and stressful events in a person’s life; I’m there to guide, advise, and facilitate a smooth and stress-free transaction. I excel in negotiation for my clients, and building positive relationships with other agents in the field has also proven to be helpful in my clients’ success.

The Ryland real estate brand is built off trust and loyalty, which is why my business thrives on referrals. If my clients are happy, they refer me to their friends and family and that’s the biggest compliment I can get. I’m so grateful each and every time I get to hand over the keys or close the sale for a client, and it’s hard to describe the joy I get in being part of their journey. As a realtor with eXp Realty, I have unlimited resources for my clients.

We are in more than 20 countries and every state, so no matter where you have real estate needs I can help you. If it’s outside of Southern California, I will get you the best boots on the ground, while still making myself available through calls or texts with any questions or concerns you might have.

Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions because I will always find an answer or a solution.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up in Canada and had a very idyllic childhood in the 80s and 90s — which were awesome, by the way.

I was a little shy as a kid but became very outgoing and extraverted as I got older.

I was very active growing up and played a lot of sports, which carried me through my higher education as I was able to attend college in Chicago on a full basketball scholarship.
