Inspiring Conversations with Amanda Pavillard of Radiate By Amanda

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Pavillard.

Hi Amanda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Of course, it’s been a pretty crazy journey. I came out to Los Angeles for the summer when I was a sophomore in high school. I was meant to be staying with my older sister for a few months to pursue acting, which is a huge dream of mine still now. I ended up graduating early from high school and moving out to LA full time. It was a huge shock to everyone in my life, myself included. When you know, you know and I knew moving out to LA was going to change my life for the better. I met a lot of amazing friends after moving out here and many of them were on social media. I naturally kind of became a character in my friends’ content and along the way, I really fell in love with the behind-the-scenes of creating videos. I started my own Youtube channel and the whole journey really started from there. Makeup and beauty has always been a major passion of mine and something I’ve shared a lot about in my content. I always wanted to create my own brand and building a platform gave me the opportunity to follow that dream. I launched my makeup brand Radiate by Amanda and the full Radiate Collection in April 2022! We just sold out our first drop and I couldn’t be more grateful or excited for what’s to come.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I started this journey at such a young age, I’ve been growing up through the process. I don’t think that journey is a smooth one for most people hahaha. I have learned more than I ever imagined I would about myself, business, life, the world, empathy, and hard work. This is a job that requires a lot of time with yourself. I’ve struggled a lot with self-image and body image. When you don’t feel good in your own skin, it can be really difficult to want to share yourself with others. Learning to love myself and push through intrusive thoughts that are brought on by the job has been a huge struggle of mine and something I’m proud I’m getting better at every day. No matter what kind of job you have I think those are feelings everyone can relate to. I found that sharing with my community online about how I deal with this journey in my own experience, has been one of the most beautiful healing things I’ve done. I always remind myself our struggles are where we grow, you can’t give up.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Radiate by Amanda is my makeup company that launched this April. We create Clean, Intentional makeup that is meant to empower its users and bring out their inner beauty. Our first collection There are three products in the first Radiate Collection. We have the Starlight Luminizing Gloss in shade “Glow Away”, the Perfect Pop Highlight in shade “Golden Aura” and the You Made Me Blush Pigment Stick in shade “Rose Colored Glasses”. I’m most proud of the fact that my brand tells a story. The names of the products reflect important lessons I’ve learned throughout my journey. This particular collection is all about empowerment, standing up for yourself and becoming the brightest version of yourself. The Radiate Collection mantra goes, “Once you remove the rose-colored glasses, you have the power to say glow away to anyone or anything that doesn’t bring you light and you’re free to radiate your golden aura for everyone to see.” Our products are versatile and made for everyone. We are transparent and thoughtful about our top-of-the-line ingredients. Our main goal with Radiate By Amanda is to create a beauty company that focuses on inner beauty as much as outer beauty.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I took a huge risk in moving out to LA at sixteen and pursuing a creative career. I invested a lot of myself academically and college was a huge focus of mine for many years. Abandoning that route for something uncertain was scary. I’m so grateful I did take that risk in life. I think you have to trust yourself and your intuition. If you don’t take any risks in life there will always be the “what ifs”. I think it’s really difficult to grow and see your full potential if you’re always sticking to what makes you comfortable in your safe zone.
