Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Krylova.
Hi Lisa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always knew I wanted to do something health-related that allowed me to help people. When I was 17, I became a yoga instructor. This opened my eyes to the importance of the mind-body connection and how it can be improved through mindful movement. Yoga inspired me to study Kinesiology which broadened my knowledge of the body but still didn’t give me the answers I was looking for. It wasn’t until I decided to go to my first chiropractic appointment that things started to make sense. The doctor educated me about how adjusting fixated joints in the spine actually reduce tension in our spinal cord. This improves and optimizes our nervous system functioning. This means that getting adjusted not only gets someone out of pain but, more importantly, helps your body move towards optimal health! I was shocked that this was not common knowledge and that we aren’t taught to take care of our spine and nervous system the way we are taught to brush our teeth daily or exercise. I wanted to share this knowledge with everyone I met! So I devoted myself to this work, got my doctorate degree in chiropractic and opened my practice – Circle of Life Chiropractic.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Opening a business definitely has its challenges. It involved a lot of trial and error, networking, marketing, and a very rocky first year. What got me through it was my trust in the process, my passion for this work, and my support network. My second year in business started off with a global pandemic. Challenge accepted! What better time to serve people than to help their immune system stay strong through a pandemic, right!? I strongly believe that when you love what you do, work hard and believe in yourself and your work – there is no limit to what you can achieve.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always very ambitious and constantly pushed myself to be the best that I can be. I was a straight A student but also loved to be adventurous and social. I took several dance, gymnastic, art, and theatre classes and said yes to every opportunity, even if it scared me – especially if it scared me. After university, I did a lot of traveling through Europe and much of South East Asia. I visited more countries in 6 months than many people do in their entire lives. Traveling became a big part of my life so naturally when the opportunity presented itself, I went on several chiropractic mission trips to serve people in other parts of the world. One of the reasons I love chiropractic is because it is a combination of several of my favorite things. Chiropractic is a comprised of three pillars – Art (the skillful adjustment), Science and Philosophy. This career allows for artful expression through the way I choose to adjust and the techniques I use, deep connection to others, the study of the human body, health and philosophy all in one. I truly could not have found a profession more perfect for me.
