Hidden Gems: Meet Monique Deville of Bird Of Paradise Skin Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Deville.

Hi Monique, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my skincare career in 2008. I worked for a dermatologist as a medical assistant and my interest in skincare and skin rejuvenation deepen, so I decided to advance my knowledge and obtained my Esthetician license in 2010. I have always been a creator and this career allows me to create. Jump to 2021, I have a thriving skincare boutique that focuses on mind, body and skin.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think anything good in life has smooth transitions. I always say you have to feel the grit before glory and yes I felt it. I realize I can’t be a jack of all trades and need a team or a network to keep the beast moving.

We’ve been impressed with Bird Of Paradise Skin Therapy, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I create a space where all are invited. Being a skin therapist is more than skin deep, I teach my clients how to thrive and understand that their skin a pathway of communication. I specialize in skin rejuvenation. As a HydraFacial MD Connect Master and being well versed in the field for 12 years has given me the ability to customize treatments during the service to best fit the client’s current skin condition. I am proud to have made a name for myself in such a populated industry with My customized Hydrafacial MD, scalp rejuvenation, acne treatments, peels and a plethora of other skin and body services.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters to me is that my clients are heard. Too many times, I have had clients tell me how their provider doesn’t hear them when it comes to their concerns. Nothing in life is cookie cutter and neither is skincare and skin treatments. Listening and hearing are the most important parts when it comes to client relations.
