Hidden Gems: Meet Federico Diaz of Millennial Realty International

Today we’d like to introduce you to Federico Diaz.

Hi Federico, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started in real estate about 20 years ago as the bilingual assistant to a top producer mortgage broker who didn’t speak any Spanish and was getting many Spanish-speaking leads. It was the perfect way to understand how the business worked and to learn the terminology. After that, I was able to become a mortgage consultant doing my own home loans. When the recession came back in 2008 the lending industry collapsed and we weren’t closing any transactions so I moved to property management and leasing working for Equity residential. I did this or a few years until the market was in better shape. I went to interview for a company that had a mortgage division and a real estate division, but instead of going back to the lending industry, I decided to work as a listing agent. Ever since then, I’ve been working with buyers and sellers helping them navigate the complex real estate arena in LA and OC.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?.
Many challenges along the way. Market fluctuation, shady agents, inefficient brokers.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Millennial Realty International?
Once I became a broker and wanted to create an agency that was better that all companies I worked for previously. I wanted to not only do transactions here in LA but also overseas. I opened Millennial Realty Int. in my home country of Colombia. I’ve been able to help many clients relocating to LA from South America and from USA to Colombia.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me directly if they need assistance selling, buying or leasing real estate or indirectly by referring me to their friends and family.
