Hidden Gems: Meet Diedre Curry of WomenwhoThriive

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diedre Curry.

Hi Diedre, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Womenwhothriive was birthed out of necessity for create a space where women like me can be seen, heard and celebrated. I always believed a women’s voice was powerful. Within that same discovery, I also noticed that when it came to women of color, we had the tendency of showing up for everyone else and leaving so little got ourselves. As I started my business, I noticed that marketing resources or funding was very far or in between but the very thing that will set us apart is our story. I teach resilient women how to own the room, take up space with their brand presence and add value.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Struggle is where champions are made. I went through periods of self-doubt, defeat and imposter syndrome because the vision was. Bigger than me and I was. Scared. I would pray to God and ask him to show me the way and every time, he has reminded me I am on the right path. When I first started out, I would give so much away for free because I love seeing women win. What I realized that the value I was. Given was. Worth it and there are women who are still winning with it today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
