Hi Christina and Kenan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The idea of ståy fresh came from our love of candles & home goods and our genuine interest and curiosity on how to create a product we loved that also aligned with our values and beliefs. Through much research, trial and error, product development and using our friends and families as test subjects, we learned how to design a product that is modern, sustainable and creates a unique sensorial experience. Utilizing the networks we’ve built in our respective fields, we continue to grow the brand daily. Our products are now proudly carried in several shops in and around Los Angeles.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being employed full-time, outside of responsibilities related to our candle business, prioritizing time has surely been the most difficult challenge. Also, A PANDEMIC! We started our company In Nov 2019, just a few months before the Covid-19 health crisis began.
Like most other small businesses, supply chain issues as a result of the pandemic caused us all sorts of problems.
Starting a business out of our home was another challenge, we very quickly realized we would need more space in order to grow our business.
We’ve been impressed with Ståy Fresh Co., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ståy Fresh Co. is a lifestyle brand that specializes in home goods.
Our company is Black/Brown owned and our candles are handmade in Los Angeles. The two of us oversee every single aspect of our business; from manufacturing and graphic design to distribution, product development and fulfillment.
We proudly offer a high-quality product at an affordable price point while remaining committed to sustainability and renewability.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
We are forever grateful for the support of our family and friends, whose encouragement and feedback gave us the initial fuel to pursue our idea. Our customers are ultimately responsible for our success as a business, and we are so humbled by the response we’ve received online and through of retail partners, who also deserve a large amount of gratitude for continuing to.
