Hidden Gems: Meet Alyssa Stalker of Ventura County Real Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Stalker.

Hi Alyssa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a mama of 2 and I have a real estate business in Ventura County. I guess if we want to go back to the beginning of this career I’m in, it started because of another one! I started in Real Estate through investing and flipping properties of my own with my husband after we built and sold two start-ups that began out of our garage. This all happened before I turned 30 and I was becoming a mom at the same time. I always had an interest in Real Estate and this sort of organically became what happened next for me. Since then, I’ve had another baby and built a full on real estate business helping make my client’s home dreams come true. It is constantly evolving and I love using the skills from my entrepreneurial background to make waves in a completely different industry.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not. Throw one baby in the mix. OK, now throw in another one nine months after that. I have “Two under Two” but this is totally what drives me. I’ve struggled with finding the balance of work success (which I strive for because of my babies) but also be the mom I want to be which is, fully focused on my babies. It’s really a constant juggling act and tug-of-war but what I’ve found is really focusing on the things that move the needle in my business and time blocking helps so I can shut off and be with my kids as much as possible. Real estate is always moving and never slows down so the ability to be available around the clock for my clients but prioritize the “every day” work is crucial to a work-life balance.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business is more of a lifestyle… I love helping people create the life they want. Walking alongside them as they head into their next phase of life, moving out of their starter home with a growing family or helping make a sound investment and creating wealth and abundance. For me, it’s about building a connection with my clients so I can anticipate their needs and support them successfully through a transaction beyond the negotiation. It’s about taking care from start to finish with integrity and transparency. I want my clients to find joy and fulfillment from their real estate endeavors.

When I personally started dabbling in real estate and selling my own properties, what I found was that real estate married all of my skill sets from that business, marketing, and entrepreneurial background. I am able to utilize and leverage that same framework for success into the real industry to deliver an unmatched experience and achieve my client’s goals. We also have a really fun time doing it because it feels more like meeting a friend for a glass of wine when working with me.

The other part of my business is working with and building with other agents. I love teaching marketing and helping agents grow, because through collaboration we can better serve our community.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Beyond getting it done and making it a win for the client, I want people to remember the person behind the transaction and that relationship that was cultivated along the way. I want a client for life, not just a transaction. This type of work is meaningful to me so I hope it comes across every step of the way and I love what builds beyond the sale, when my clients send me photos of their newborn, the upgrades they did to their house, when they’re ready to move up or get an investment property – we are truly growing together.
