Hidden Gems: Meet Alexia Young of Haus De Reina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexia Young.

Alexia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
At a very young age, I remember being obsessed with everything fashion and all things pink and girly. Around thirteen – fourteen, I decided I wanted to have my own business one day BUT I knew it was destined to be in the medical field or fashion industry. I first started with dressing my little sister up whenever I could and doing my friend’s hair and makeup or whoever at the time would let me express my creativity. When I turned around fifteen years old, I had my mom buy me a sewing machine for Christmas and to teach myself how to sew via YouTube but was unsuccessful. I had a lot of family members tell me a “fashion degree” would not get me anywhere and to stick to my dreams in the medical field. I soon let people get to my head and let go of this dream to be in the fashion world until I got pregnant with my daughter who actually inspired me to bring my vision back to life. Haus De Reina is more than a brand to me, the meaning of the name itself holds so much value. Not only does it stand for “House of Queens” it’s named after my little queen whom middle name happens to be Reina. I decided to name my brand after her so one day she will be able to take over and continue empowering everyday women to let your outfit speak FOR YOU! I created my brand with a passion to create a one of a kind shopping experience for all women, I had a strong desire to create a site where women of all shapes, ages, sizes, and budgets can find their dream outfit and slay effortlessly!! Knew I wanted to create a place where you can get fashion obtainable to ANYONE because any girl knows that a women’s outfit strongly impacts how they feel daily. I knew I needed to bring this dream to reality to show that us women are capable of anything we put our mind to, regardless of any obstacle thrown our way! I want all three of my kids to know they can be and do anything they set their little minds to and that there is NO dream too big they can’t achieve, just look at mommy! Besides my love for fashion, my kids were my inspiration to officially begin my brand. I have accomplished so much in such little time and I can not wait to see what the future holds for Haus De Reina.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
If I sat here and said this journey has been even the slightest bit of easy, I would be lying to you. With any business venture, you pursue there will be many trials, mishaps and unfortunate events that will occur but it all boils down too if you have the persistence and courage to keep pushing. It hasn’t been a smooth road per se, but all of the hiccups have taught me lessons that have now become part of the journey. When I started my boutique, I had no idea the amount of support I would receive. I was one of those girls that postponed starting my own business due to the personal fear of people’s opinions or who would support me or even buy what I was offering. You have to cancel out the noise around you and that little voice in your head telling you, you can’t do this… because I am here to tell you, YOU CAN!! I always l knew I was talented but I definitely doubted my capabilities. I designed my own website my logo, decided on what my brand colors would be and who my target audience was and went to work. I doubted myself a lot during the process of building my brand… and I mean A LOT. There has been a lot of times where I wanted quit, days where I didn’t make any money or sell any items… weeks! Moments where I didn’t believe I was even capable of building a brand. But still, I never threw in the towel. I know one day my brand will be known worldwide, I know if I were to quit now I would never let myself live it down. My brand has only been in business going on two years and has received multiple articles, the opportunity to speak on a panel for a college, have shipped out more than 50 orders to customers not even located in my state and so much more. I have accomplished every goal I have set for my brand so far and this is why I could never give up. I have received opportunities people work years for in such little time. This is why I push women on a daily to go out and put your mind to whatever goal you want to accomplish! Whatever business you want to start! Put your all into anything you want to pursue! You will be amazed what a little perseverance, courage and hard work can do. I say all this to say no matter what obstacle you face in the business industry never let it break you or give up instead learn from those mistake and keep pushing. It’s easier said than done but you have to want it as bad as people don’t want you to have it. You may go months or even years without getting the breakthrough that some business owners get overnight. It’s not an easy ride but it will be worth it in the end.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Haus De Reina is not your ordinary women’s boutique. Beyond helping you look your best, I strive to make every purchase made by customers a positive experience. One of my top priorities are excellent customer service, exceptionally quick order processing, a vibe you can’t find anywhere else, and a brag-worthy outfit. The packaging alone will make you want to order from my boutique. What sets us apart from most besides our fire selections is the vibe and customer service I offer. You definitely can not find it anywhere else. I like to socialize with my customers and make a safe environment where they are comfortable speaking on what may look good on them, suggestions to outfits, how items may fit on them, etc. I want my customers to always feel comfortable shopping with me. I am most known for the outfit “SPORTY SPICE” every time this item drops it sells out. Check out our website to see what the hype is about! I am where I am today because I refuse to give up. Building a business up from the ground is way harder than what social media leads you to believe. If it was easy, we would ALL be millionaires. I am most proud about how far I have come with NO help, I literally have taught myself everything I know from photography, graphic design all the way down to accounting. Everything about my brand has been done by me and only me and I can not wait to teach my daughters everything I know!

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
If you do not follow me on social media, you may not know I am a mom of three beautiful children. King, A’Laiya, and Avaiya. They are the motivation behind everything I do. Another thing a lot of people do not know is that I run every aspect of my brand. I made my website, designed my own logos, picked out brand colors, whom my target audience would be, I take my own photos until I recently invested in a photographer (it was becoming too much work for me). I make my own content, run all social medias by myself and so on. I always knew I was talented but with developing this brand, I was able to really tap into my creative side. People ask me all the time how do I work a full-time job, take care of three kids, and run a business and my answer always is “I will sleep when I am rich.” I do not overwork myself when it comes to my brand to avoid burn out but I make sure I put in effort everyday to achieve every goal I set. There are a lot of surprising things you can learn about myself and my brand by giving me a follow on social media.
