Exploring Life & Business with Simon Mashian of Simon’s Secret Sauce

Today we’d like to introduce you to Simon Mashian. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Simon Mashian is the founder of Simon’s Secret Sauce, a new company founded during the pandemic. A pioneer in the hospitality industry, Simon went to University of Nevada, Las Vegas and studied Hospitality Management with an emphasis on Food and Beverage. While attending UNLV, Simon helped manage a small chain in Las Vegas before moving back to Los Angeles in 2011.

In 2011 Simon began working for Coral Tree Cafe which is where his love for food blossomed. He immersed himself in the menu and learned how to make every dish on the menu – breakfast, lunch and dinner. In 2017, Simon became the Director of Operations for Alliance Hospitality.

It was always his dream to open his own restaurant, and he thought no better time than during the pandemic. Being unable to eat out inspired him to get creative when cooking meals at home for him and his wife, Mona. In October 2020, Simon’s Secret Sauce began production and he started selling the bottles from his home. Now you can purchase his bottles through his website with shipping throughout the U.S.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
He launched a business during the Covid-19 pandemic, and that was one obstacle he faced.

We’ve been impressed with Simon’s Secret Sauce, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The brand started with the original sauce and has now expanded to three flavors. I will continue to make sure everything is vegan, gluten-free, non gmo, nut-free, and made with kosher ingredients. I want to keep all that across the board as we continue to grow. The brand is also meant to have a fun vibe around it – videos we post are meant to make our customers feel good about us and themselves. Laugh, cook, and have fun!

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The most important things that I always want to have in mind – transparency, quality, and amazing sauce and service! Keeping these in line and always remembering this will make sure employees are happy as well as customers.
