Exploring Life & Business with Jill Espino of Little Giants Giant Shorties

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jill Espino. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Ivan Rivera and Khrysti Hill started Little Giants when they were expecting their son, Knowledge, in 2013. They couldn’t find clothing and accessories at that time that resonated with their vibe so they decided to create their own pieces. They started selling online first, then scored a pop up in New York in 2016 that was only supposed to last a month. They received overwhelming praise from the pop up that they opened up their first store in Brooklyn in 2017.

The inspiration behind the designs come mostly from nostalgia, skate, hip hop and art, basically the culture and things we all grew up on. Ideas come up and they manage to distill these memories and pieces of our history into gear and garments for our little ones!

Ivan and Khrysti always wanted to open up a Los Angeles store but wanted to partner up with a like-minded Los Angeles family to help get the store up and running. Through a mutual friend, they met Aaron and Jill and arranged to meet in Vegas in 2019. Ivan and Khrysti and Aaron and Jill met, and the rest is history. The Little Giants family was expanding!

Aaron and Jill started looking for spaces for the potential Little Giants LA store and found the space they are in today. Every obstacle imaginable was thrown at them during the build-out phase of the store, including a pandemic. Through all the challenges, they were able to throw a couple of pop up events in 2021 and officially opened in March 2022. Everything leading up to the opening of Little Giants LA was worth the wait and now they have the illest kid’s store the west coast has ever seen!

The Little Giants Los Angeles flagship store is now up and running at 4675 Hollywood Blvd. Come check us out and bring the family!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Some of the struggles included delays from the city on permits and inspections, switching contractors during the buildout, and the pandemic, which delayed the build-out even more.
