Exploring Life & Business with Claudia Andrea of Inka Roots

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Andrea.

Hi Claudia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Our company, Inka Roots was born from the heart of four Peruvian women. Ana and Silvia (my mom) met in the 1980s in Lima, Peru through mutual friends. Fate led Silvia to leave her home and move to the United States where she reunited with Ana a few years later. Throughout the years, each woman had daughters, Ana Cecilia (Ana) and Claudia Andrea (Silvia). Ana Cecilia was raised in Peru and Claudia Andrea in California. Although Claudia lived far from Peru, her mother taught her to love her roots and carry herself with the Peruvian essence of the family they’d left behind. Ana Cecilia is a fashion designer in Peru and Claudia is a digital show host in Los Angeles. The two creative minds of Ana Cecilia and Claudia Andrea plus the entrepreneurial spirit of their mothers was how Inka Roots was born. Inka Roots was created to share with the world through our products the culture, colors and magic of Peru.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely been a fun get challenging road. Being a businesswoman is not easy. There are soooo many things you need to learn, like permits and taxes, as well as what your audience likes, you also have to fund the business yourself. It’s not like you wake up one day with a business. It literally takes blood, sweat and tears but it’s all worth it.

We’ve been impressed with Inka Roots LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We offer products that represent our Peruvian culture. Our products are bright, beautiful but they can be styled and worn by anyone not just Peruvians. It’s been really cool seeing how the American public embraced our brand

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being with my family. Because at the end of the day or week, family and love is everything, I work hard so I can share memories with my loved ones.
