Exploring Life & Business with Candice Yusim Maskell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Yusim Maskell.

Hi Candice, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.

I’m a self-worth advocate & empowerment coach, brand marketing strategist, wife and mama.  I believe that our relationship to self, and how we value ourselves drives how we engage with every aspect of our lives, with our family, in our relationships, and in our careers.  I believe there is a place in this world where committing to self love, accepting and loving our whole self is possible and I believe that self worth is a super power that when tapped into supports our growth, our dreams and our reality.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve thrived on connection to self and others and have been incredibly curious about our human potential.  Instilled in me from my Mama is an all-knowing belief in and appreciation for who I am. I was the apple of her eye, and no one was more proud of me than Stacy was.   She encouraged me to love myself, to believe in myself, and taught me to celebrate everyday like it was my birthday. “You’re worth it,” “never settle,” and “life is not a dress rehearsal” were things she often said to me and every time I said I love you, she said I love you more.    I am here to support & lift others today, because of all the incredible ways my Mom was there for me.

My background draws from a deep well of corporate, entrepreneurial and life experience, success and failure. Through deep emotional and spiritual work, trainings and certifications, and many moons of marketing, communications and business experience, I have been bless to work and study with some of the world’s leading practitioners in Psychology, Coaching, Self Development, Yoga & Meditation and continue to explore what is possible spiritually, mentally and physically.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

My greatest challenges have become my teachers, and in many ways have become my most counted blessings and have brought me to where I am today. One of the greatest compliments I’ve ever been given is when I fall, I fall up.   This is never lost on me… and the truth is no matter how many times I fail, how low I go or what I say to myself when I am really down, I eventually get myself back up and keep going because I believe in myself and know my worth.

I pivoted from my successful career in entertainment/music/tech marketing nearly 7 years ago because I knew there was something out there greater for me.  After 20+ years in communication and marketing and a lifelong relentless passion for personal and spiritual growth I realized my prestigious positions at powerhouse agencies driving campaigns for some of the largest brands and recording artists in the world looked great on paper but was far from feeding my soul.  From the outside, I was living the dream, yet the truth was I was playing small, not listening to my gut and time and time again I was telling myself that what I was doing mattered to me, but did it?  Yes, it was exciting,  I was traveling the world, had plenty of security,  but sadly I felt empty inside.  I was impressed with my “success” until I realized I was immersed in a toxic corporate culture that was sadly motivated by fear and had me doing emergency handstands in my corner office.  I thrived on my connection to others and wanted to focus on work that was authentic and that truly mattered.  After far too many years of trepidation, a miscarriage, and a meditation experience that guided me to “wellness”, I took the road less traveled and listened to my soul calling.

A long and winding road, five year fertility journey, opened me up to be more receptive, proved to me that age is just a number and that I was stronger than I was giving myself credit for. To say we were blessed with the anticipated arrival of our baby girl is an understatement and I gave birth at the ripe age of 46. When our daughter was born the cycle of life became omnipresent and the joy of staying present and savoring precious moments became a challenge as at the same time I was becoming a Mama, my own mother became very ill.   When our baby girl was just eight months old, my life was forever changed again and after a valiant battle for her life, we lost my Mom to cancer.  The gift of motherhood took on a whole new meaning,  something inside of me died, yet something beautiful was awakened.  I could suddenly feel my Mom every time I embraced my daughter and I realized the greatest gift she ever gave me was my self worth and this needed to be celebrated and shared not only with my daughter but with the world.   And so my commitment to love myself as fully as Stacy loved me and to dedicate my life to supporting others on their own journey to Love YOU More was born.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know

I empower passionate women & mamas to tap into their self-worth so they can thrive, lead and love by example and create the beautiful reality of having it all without sacrificing precious moments in their life.    My coaching program covers important topics like making yourself a priority, self-love, self-talk, taming your inner critic, stepping into your power and saying no to Mom’s guilt.   All through the lens of the busy woman who is used to putting everyone else before herself, perhaps lost in overachieving, her career, or motherhood.   She knows she deserves more but has no idea what that is or how to get it and my program speaks to the woman who wants her cake and to eat it too.  Together we develop real-life strategies and compassion practices that support their busy lives and business as they perfect the art and superpower of self-worth, develop greater standards for themselves, push and create boundaries, and show up more fully for themselves, their family, their children and their careers.

My approach is a combination of innovative coaching, growth strategies, mindfulness and wellness practices and accountability techniques, that help my clients connect with their true self, tap into their worth,  build self-confidence, create momentum, and achieve lasting results.

What’s next?

I recently launched a 3-month program, and I am developing an online course.   I am looking forward to working with groups in person again, but for now focused on supporting as many women as possible virtually, and especially during this unprecedented time.   For more information on how to work with me 1:1 or to connect with me at one of my upcoming workshops, visit https://www.candicemaskell.com/packages
