Exploring Life & Business with Brianna Lee of Not So Hollywood Clothing Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Lee.

Hi Brianna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up in South Los Angeles, there was a vast array of ‘environments’ I was exposed to. Being placed in Private educational institutions from Early Education through Middle school, I feel, did give me a bit of an advantage over other children in my neighborhood, who probably were not in the same establishments. Learning from and befriending people from different ethnic backgrounds and cultures gave me a broader understanding of the human experience here in Los Angeles. And then, to become a student at the public Crenshaw High School was a new experience; one that I was excited and yet a bit nervous to venture into. To see so many other girls, boys and staff that looked like me, was an amazing feeling; I actually felt HOME.

Fast forward to my adult years…I had to put my healthcare career on hold and I started w/ multilevel marketing businesses (to bring in income), but that wasn’t long-lived. I needed to use this life I’ve been given to try even harder and that is what I did! I built a service-based business first, but once the pandemic hit, I again had to roll with the entrepreneurial punches and think on my next moves. I thought on what I love and how these things could be shared with others. And there is nothing like sharing a vibe! This is when Not So Hollywood Clothing Co. was born! A vibe that was made for humans who chose to be themselves. Raw. Unedited. Real…

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Creating my apparel business from the ground up ( during a global pandemic ) hasn’t been the smoothest journey. But, it also hasn’t been the worst of my troubles in life! Researching to find quality products was imperative. Sitting back and thinking about my WHY and if the vibe I feel, by being a native Angeleno, would be enough to build and maintain/progress my business was/is a constant thought in my mind. But, when I think on where I am as an entrepreneur and where I want myself and my family to be in the future, all doubts leave my mind. Success is already available. I just have to go get it! And that’s what I’m striving for with my business… to be successful and yet, not so Hollywood.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Not So Hollywood Clothing Co.?
Not So Hollywood Clothing Co. came from my love of keeping good, quality decal tees in my wardrobe… like always! The comfort they provide and the vibe the imprint brings is something really awesome in my eyes. And, because I’ve always loved them, I figured why not put my money and love into something that I created! Everyone has a memory of that tee that got them through a hard time, a night of tears or maybe even a day of struggle that they conquered! Or, what about a favorite hoodie, that no matter the season, it stays in your rotation, week after week. Your clothes shouldn’t just cover your body, they should be an expression of your style, your focus, your personality… YOU. And, when you wear Not So Hollywood CC, you know you’re getting that AUTHENTIC L.A. VIBE… and who DOESN’T want that?! Like… NOBODY. LOL, we are here for the people. We are here for the vibe.

What were you like growing up?
Perhaps being an only child gave me a bit of an advantage when came to becoming who I am today. I had no one to be compared to. There was no other child for me to be more like. As a child, I was straight-no-chaser, what you see is what you get, act a fool for a fool’s sake and still full of love to give. And, I take pride in still being all these things while ADULTING today!
