Exploring Life & Business with Cecí Bell of Take A Leap Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cecí Bell.

Hi Cecí, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As a young girl, I remember dreaming I would live in Southern California. Now what was once a dream is a reality for me. I moved here with my husband Tyrell and my youngest son Amari from Atlanta, GA. We recently got married on September 19, 2020, at El Matador Beach. We enjoy living in California. I am not sure if we would ever get tired of the beach. I am an advocate for STEM education because my education opens doors for me. I studied Chemical Engineering for five years at the Georgia Institute of Technology and commenced with a BS degree in Mathematics at Kennesaw State University. And I encourage young people to know “problem-solving” is a growing commodity. Although a teaching career is highly honorable, it is not the only career path for people with problem-solving skills. You can take your mathematics expertise to corporate finance or entrepreneurship as I did. Before the Covid-19 era, I worked as an FP&A Analyst for over eight years while simultaneously building a successful fitness business. What started as working out with friends and family quickly turned into profits.

My family and friends encourage me to help others after dropping over 53lbs of weight and placing 2nd in my first Bikini Bodybuilding competition. Reluctant at first, I soon learned I had a gift for assisting people in accomplishing their goals. And I enjoyed the long-term connections I made over the years of helping several people. I admired bringing to people’s awareness who they are and what they are capable of doing. I became obsessed with human growth and personal development, which led me to grow my motivational speaking business. Before we relocated to California, I decided to add the business coaching model to expand my platform leveraging social media. With years of experience growing my own fitness business to a Private Fitness Gym and a proven online methodology, I helped other people turn their expertise into an online business model. This shift came at perfect timing because most companies had to make significant pivots to their business model to stay afloat during such uncertain times. Since then, I am writing a book called “The 12 Money Mindset Principles” to help develop an abundance mindset.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it hasn’t always been a smooth road, specifically with my online coaching business. With so much uncertainty facing us, I had to learn to be okay with failure. Using social media as the marketing source to get the word out about your business comes with its pros and cons. However, after tons of practice, you will learn from your mistakes. I think the biggest struggle for me was using social media for marketing. I had already grown a successful private fitness gym, and most of my clients came from other sources. As I was leveraging social media, I learned very quickly “how social media” works and “how to communicate to my ideal client effectively.” Also, I had a fear of being scene ironically. Often, I didn’t want to be the center of attention. And this is the opposite of what you want to do in business. Nowadays, people are fighting for attention because they know attention creates sales. I was comfortable with succeeding behind closed doors and not speaking publicly to everyone. After realizing the bigger picture, I am now encouraged to get the word out regardless of how stupid I may look. And I’ve helped many people to follow their dreams, so it’s been worth the push. To add to this, “problem-solving” is a commodity. If you have a problem you can solve, social media is the best space to get the word out at scale.

Take a Leap Coaching LLC offers strategic business coaching programs to small businesses. Are people buying what you offer? If so, there’s probably a market for it, and if you’re having trouble making your business model scalable, then there’s more to discuss. With process implementation and continuous improvements, I help you create a profitable and scalable online business model. I specialize in “knowing the numbers.” Knowing the numbers is a crucial part of the business. The data tells a story that predicts the trajectory of your business. I would say I am known for inspiring people to go after what they want. And I encourage people to instill a solution-driven mindset when it comes to business. If you run into a roadblock, find another route. If there is a problem, you better believe there is a solution. We got to be willing to search for the answers and become resourceful to solve the underlying problem.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
If you are searching for a mentor, I would say find someone who has already done what you want to accomplish. Go to the experts. Also, consider looking within your network. Tell your friends and family about what you are wanting to do. My mentor was recommended to me by my husband after I stated I wanted one. Keep people in the loop on what you’re working on because you never know where an opportunity may derive. And take the initiative on your personal development journey. It is called a journey for a reason. You can always blossom better. You don’t arrive at an occasion, and that is all. You will be continuously growing and expanding—especially businesses that plan to stick around for a while. As the people of the organization grow, this reflects in the business growth.
