Daily Inspiration: Meet Tia Brumbelow

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tia Brumbelow.

Hi Tia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started as a kid’s graphic tee line where I wanted to have cute clothes for boys and raise awareness for rare conditions like Kagami Ogata Syndrome which my son Dex happens to have. I soon realized that my love and passion for all things home was something I really want to pursue and add so, I started adding home decor and that is what my shop carries today!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are of course amazing seasons where the shop is thriving and growing but there’s also times when things are just slow or creativity is lacking. Things like Pandemics and rising prices can cause things like shopping for home decor to take a back seat. While completely understandable and warranted, it can be hard for a small shop, like mine to grow.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
So I mainly source fair trade home products. Some items I designed myself and have them made here locally, some I collaborate with other local small shops and we come up with really cool things like candles and other types of pieces for your space. I am most proud of the fact that I’ve taken this literally from the ground up. have gone through ups, downs, hits and misses and I think I’ve finally started to find my place and my way. I think what sets me apart is one, faith is the first and foremost thing in my life and that drives not only my everyday but also my business. Without the Lord, I would be completely directionless and I think that really helps my business stay the course and even thrive in the toughest of times.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I do a lot of local pop-ups around LA and Orange County and that’s a great way to show your support! Even if you’re not able or don’t want to purchase anything you can come just hang out and we can chat! I’m also always open to collaborations as long as it’s with a shop or brand that is positive and uplifting and you can catch me on Instagram!
