Daily Inspiration: Meet Scooter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scooter.

Hi Scooter, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello, I am Scooter, i am 23 year old and i am from Kansas City, Mo. As far back as I can remember, I’ve always had so much love and life in me. An imagination wider than the average child. I’m sure I adapted such an imagination growing up and loving Barney so much. Yes, that purple dinosaur was my first bestfriend. He taught me imagination and to never limit your love nor light. Your imagination can take you anywhere if you just believe. Growing up the only child, my imagination was sometimes the only thing I had to entertain myself. From making up dances with my cousins, writing plays for the children on my nanny’s block , or just playing in clothes playing America’s next top model, I’ve always dreamed big!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
A smooth road? No, could never expect a smooth road. I don’t even want a smooth road. I want a road with bumps and turns, flips, tricks and all because through all that comes with many lessons. You gain wisdom in those fuzzy moments because now you have to figure your way out of it. Grants growth, now an INCLINED road.. goes up, never down. In 2017, I returned home from college in Los Angeles, I was ashamed and depressed. I shortly thought my dreams was over, I lost hope for just a second. I prayed every single night for guidance because I had no idea what was next for me. During this time, I spent so much time in bed, walking around with a mask pretending to be okay. I can’t lie without that moment, I don’t think I ever would’ve found a reason to challenge myself, to challenge my growth. It took that moment for me to see myself, hopeless and out of it for me to realize my true potential. It was like cradling a little boy and encouraging him to get up & try again, after falling off his back and skinning his knee. But I got up! I did a few short films in Kansas City and eventually got into modeling, that’s when everything started to change for me…

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an all-around artist, creator, muse and inspiration. I model, act, I do creative direction & artist development. I’ve just recently got into modeling coaching where I am supporting, educating and uplifting the talented, hidden gems of Kansas City, MO. In my independent experience, “ Scooters Model Coaching Experience “ , SCOOTIO66.

Being myself within everything that I do constantly awards me and sets me apart of others because it’s genuinely me. I never wait for someone else to set trends or approve of my divinity. I encourage myself every step of the way to be vulnerable and put my whole being into anything that I am a part of because when you are focused on self & you encourage your intuition, you could never be comparable or altered. Theirs always something YOU can bring into something that no one else can because you are just simply, being you and NOONE can do you, like you!

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk-taking can be so scary but the most awarding things in life are. I don’t think I often even realized how many risks I take on an everyday basis. I mean is it not a risk trusting that your doordash guy didn’t stick his hands in your order before dropping it off to you? I say that to say, once I gave myself the credit and trust that I can and will do anything I put my mind to… the possibilities have become endless, and I am just getting started. I will continue to take risks because that’s what has helped me build that inclined road, risks are like the exercises between reaching your goals. Without taking risks are you really even getting the full experience? Nothing is promised, & that’s when faith comes in. It took me having faith in God, the universe and having faith within myself and knowing in that I am safe, I am protected and I am able to obtain anything I deserve.
