Today we’d like to introduce you to Sasha Kay.
Hi Sasha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started photography four years ago. I got my first camera with no intention to become a full-time photographer, I was taking pictures of friends mostly until I decided that it was what I felt passionate about and I started to look for actors and models who would like to be a part of my photography.
It took me four years to develop my style through experimenting and taking photography classes from photographers that inspired me. I like where I am right now, I enjoy what I do and I am happy to say that I am able t make a living out of my passion.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I faced a lot of challenges and I was judged when I decided to quit my stable job to follow a dream to become a full-time photographer. However, I do not regret anything, the path I am taking is not easy, it’s not stable. I have always been an introvert and it is so important in this field to learn a skill of communication in order to promote yourself. It has been the hardest challenge for me but I am learning and growing everyday.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a photographer and I specialize in moody lo-fi portraits. I like to focus on emotions and movement in my photography. I create powerful, dynamic portraits with a dramatic edge.
I think I finally found myself in what I do. And I am very proud of this. I speak up through photography and open up people from a different side. You can find me in my works, I like to convey my emotions and feelings through the body and eyes of other people. Therefore, it is very important for me to work with people who are psychologically similar to me so that we become one whole.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
