Daily Inspiration: Meet Paige Galdieri

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Galdieri.

Hi Paige, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am first an actor first a social media manager second. I graduated from the University of the Arts in Philly with a BFA in Musical Theater. I was immediately signed by Big Mouth Talent Agency in Chicago. I am now living in Chicago running my own free-lance social media business, Paige Liz Management. I am also working as social media manager for Lydias Media and section editor/ manager for The LA Note.

My dream and life goal is to be an actor, however, it takes a side hustle, second job, to support an acting career. At least in the beginning. I struggle with severe anxiety and panic disorder so your usual waitress gig was not going to cut it for me. I also had dreams of being a business owner, so I took matters into my own hands and taught myself how to be a social media manager. I invested in an online course to have a deeper understanding of the job.

I am now running multiple social media accounts and currently working on producing my very own sketch comedy show.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have been lucky that things have just been working out. The struggle is time-management budgeting. We are never taught how to properly handle our money, well at least I wasn’t, and I learned quickly that budgeting is important. I got a little too excited when I started making my own money!

Burnout has also been a struggle for me, which directly correlates to time management. I am currently in the process of solidifying MY process. I am tracking my hours and tracking my energy to see how to be the most efficient businesswoman I can be.

It’s all about delegating time.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
From a young age, I have always loved theater. As my Dad, he’s been cast as Danny Zuko and Daddy Warbucks about a dozen times in our living room “theater”. There is nothing more fulfilling than bringing excitement to an audience. I remember when I was in middle school and I saw SNL for the first time and Kristen Wiig was on. I saw her as the Target Lady and I turned to my mom and said, “that’s what I want to do.” And it hasn’t changed since!

I discovered my passion for comedy and impression through watching SNL vets like Wiig or Hollywood icons like Jim Carrey and Robin Williams. My favorite thing in the world is making people laugh. It’s so addicting! There is nothing harmful about it, I mean to have that as a career would be amazing!

Through the years, I have been in a number of Sketch Comedy and Improv shows, I have also developed some celebrity impersonations along the way.

Now, I am living in Chicago as a signed actor with Big Mouth Talent Agency. I have been here for a few months and have had many auditions but no bookings yet, but like any other industry, it’s a numbers game! As a marketer, I know that to sell a product, people have to see the product, right? So, I have to get myself and my name in front of as many people as I can. I can’t rely on my agents to do that for me. So, I have rallied my best comedy sidekicks that I’ve worked with over the years and I am producing my own sketch comedy show.

I’d rather take the risk and have fun making sketched than risk not doing anything at all to advance my career. I’m taking my business and marketing skills and directly applying it to my acting career.
