Daily Inspiration: Meet Nate (Neo) Macias

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nate (Neo) Macias.

Hi Nate (Neo), can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey involves different pieces of myself traveling from different roads to meet in one place; a jubilee of inspiration and newfound passion, all with the end goal of finding my “creative self”. From my first love of music; to my passion of fashion by speaking volumes through nothing but the garments you wear on your body.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely has not. From family backlash and years of holding back because he was scared of “failing” when it wasn’t even possible to fail it, I didn’t put my work out! I was scared for years. Just latched on to college and my studies to feel some type of “fulfillment” because I wasn’t doing what I really wanted to do. It all came down to the new people I began to surround myself with; which lead to a creative renaissance within myself

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Model, a Fashion Stylist, and a Sound Designer. I specialize in all three. There is no reality or universe where I wouldn’t do all three with the passion that I have! In terms of my most proud accomplishment with my three loves

Modeling: New Balance Footwear Campaign

Styling: Work being published in multiple fashion magazine/publications and even PhotoVogue

Music: after years of trial and error; finally finding my sound through the works of analogue music equipment and preparing to drop my first EP on all platforms in September. Also, fully teaching myself to play the electric guitar which was a dream since a child. Now it’s about perfecting it

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like that there are plenty of opportunities for creatives and artists out here (you just need to seek and know the right people); it’s all abo connections out here.

And what I like least is that there is way too many people trying to do the same thing you want to do. The competition isn’t even the problem; it’s the SATURATION that’s the problem. I also have an issue with a lot of the characters and egos out here. People let success get to their heads too easily. It’s demeaning
