Daily Inspiration: Meet Kymberlin Martin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kymberlin Martin.

Hi Kymberlin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My passion for flowers begins as a little girl. I would walk around my neighborhood and pick flowers make bouquets just for fun. But pursuing my career didn’t start until The pandemic. I was pursuing acting in Hollywood and also serving in a restaurant to pay my bills before the pandemic happened. Due to the pandemic, I was laid off from my job and acting industry was put on pause. Due to that, I was bored and wanted to express myself in a creative way so I started playing with flowers. I quickly became passionate about floral design and I haven’t looked back since I started.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
If I’m being completely honest, this process has been moving very quickly which has been super exciting but also very overwhelming. Since so many weddings have been delayed due to the pandemic, The wedding industry is playing catch-up and florists are busier than ever. Luckily, I’ve been blessed to have worked with several incredibly talented florists who have taught me everything I know. I have a long way to grow, but I truly would not be where I’m at right now if I hadn’t been freelancing for those florists.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a wedding and event florist. I have recently been able to make a bouquet for a Gucci ad for Jacie Marie Smith, who is a social media influencer. That was probably the coolest project that I was able to be a part of. Other than that, I have been able to book my own personal weddings through my own company, which I never thought would be a reality. I feel extremely blessed to be where I’m at right now.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
If anything, I learned that you can make your passions and dreams a reality even through dark times. I’ve never been more motivated in my entire life to make something for myself. And to think that Covid birthed a passion out of me that is now a reality blows my mind. If you are passionate about anything in your life, you can make it happen no matter what the circumstances. A pandemic couldn’t hold me back, so go after what you love!
