Daily Inspiration: Meet John George Wigmanich

Today we’d like to introduce you to John George Wigmanich.

Hi John George, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It’s been an evolution and culmination of passions that turned into this career. I’ve always loved creating beauty, helping people, and making my living space beautiful and inviting for gatherings. I started with a wine broker in Santa Barbara selling local wines, to selling homes in Beverly Hills, to working with a wine consultant in Paso Robles, to speaking on Feng Shui to architects and anyone who would listen. Becoming an Interior Designer later just seemed like a natural transition. From there, I had some friends who got divorced and needed to rebuild their lives and asked for my help. I helped them find a place to live, bought furniture, and removed all the things in their lives that would subconsciously (and consciously) remind them of the pain of their past.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wish I could say it’s been smooth sailing, but it hasn’t. I feel that men could really use my services but have found that they have difficulty asking for help, so that’s been one obstacle. I’ve actually had this idea for about twenty years but found it to be a little fringe (which I actually prefer, but doesn’t make for a good business model). I’m also a little gun shy at promoting myself, so that’s been a challenge when it comes to getting my name out there.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My services range from one-day consultations to full blown Interior Design projects. Where I really feel inspired by my work is empowering my clients in their home. By having deep conversations about the background and history of the items in their home creates a sense of understanding of everything they bring into their homes. The intention is that you love everything in your home so that it raises your personal vibration and makes you happy and comfortable in your home and I guide them through that process. I use Western Style Feng Shui, Interior Design, and my passion to help people as my daily guiding light in my work. Where most Feng Shui practitioners will tell clients what to do at a later time, I do on the spot. So, I’ll move and hang that painting or rearrange their furniture so they feel an immediate shift in their space and gives them a sense of intense gratification.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I work well with other Vendors and designers/contractors on a project. In real estate, you are navigating, soothing, and managing lots of different personalities at the same time, so that was a great skill set that I’ve brought into my current career. It’s like herding cats if they could speak human… 🙂
