Daily Inspiration: Meet HowFlyy

Today we’d like to introduce you to HowFlyy.

Hi HowFlyy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am from Paso Robles, CA and I am a recording artist, songwriter, producer, business owner and entrepreneur a true jack of all trades. I have been pursuing music for as long as I can remember but got my real first start in the small college city of Chico, CA around 2012 where I am recording and dropped my first mixtape titled “2 Damn Flyy” on (that I recorded on Garageband in my bedroom) which to my surprise generated about 100k views and downloads with no type or promo or anything it just happened. I then went on to drop three more mixtapes generating a little buzz on SoundCloud and booked myself two summer tours where I linked with the LA-based collective Long Haul Music Group and started doing music business with them. By the time I graduated college, I packed a backpack and hit the road to Los Angeles and worked my way through studios and networking for three and half years to where we are today with over half a million streams as well as views and owning a brand new full-functioning creative factory In North Hollywood called “The Arcade Los Angeles”.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think being a creative especially coming into LA as a newcomer is anything but smooth. The biggest struggles I faced, I would say we’re definitely trying to find my niche or where I fit in this huge scene of talented people. It takes a while to learn how to navigate and the dos and don’ts when presenting your ideas and music.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a recording artist, songwriter, producer, studio manager, business owner, brand manager, entrepreneur and influencer. I think I got them all? Lol, I mainly specialize in song-writing and artist development and have recently been tapped by labels to aid in the development of their newest acquired talent. I am mostly known for my SoundCloud freestyles and my two more popular tracks “Own 2” and “Pull Up’ I am proud of everything with my name attached to it. I’ve come a long, long way from recording in the basement! What I believe sets me apart from others is my unique voice and melodies. You know exactly who it is anytime a song of mine or one I have written starts to play.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I feel that authenticity and genuineness has allowed me to be successful this early in my career. It has opened up a lot of doors by just being myself and knowledgeable about music.
