Today we’d like to introduce you to Happy Hour Homegirl.
Please kick things off for us by telling us about how the Happy Hour Homegirl came to be.
Happy Hour Homegirl was an idea that crossed our minds in the midst of the pandemic. We were missing gatherings with friends, family, and coworkers. The best and safest way to meet and catch up has been via facetime or zoom. There was always something that was missing, and that light bulb just went on….build your own cocktails! What is a better way to enjoy a little get together virtually than with a cocktail kit! It’s the perfect gift to give, a great way to keep everyone safe at home, and totally worthy of showing off on social media, and we know everyone loves a good “instagrammy” photo. Our cocktail kits come with everything needed to craft a signature cocktail, a recipe card, a personalized glass and our favorite part, a playlist!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road. Fortunately, we are both like-minded and both want what is best for each other and for the business. It’s very different starting a business in a pandemic. There is a lot more to think about so we always take the extra precaution to keep ourselves and our customers safe from the beginning of our process to delivery.
What else should we know?
Best friends since college, and met through mutual friends. Instantly clicked, and been inseparable since 2011. Valerie Nava works as a behavior therapist for an agency that works with children on the autism spectrum. Alice Santellan works in finance as a personal banker for a leading bank. When we aren’t working our day time jobs, we are working on Happy Hour Homegirl by curating cocktail kits and learning & gaining knowledge to make us better. Happy Hour is more than just a cocktail but a time to step back from your normal routine and celebrate yourself… We are constantly working on ourselves and finding ways to promote positivity. Our hope is to continuously do that through our social media and cocktail kits. Sending and receiving our cocktail kit is a way to still connect with those you love and celebrate them.
How do you think about luck?
It’s all good vibes here! From the moment we had the idea, everything has clicked. Ideas and opportunities have been flowing, and we are so grateful each and every day. We cannot stress enough how much support we have received from family and friends which has played a significant role.
