Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Scordato.
Hi Danny, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am from Saint Petersburg, Florida, just moved to LA this year. I recently left my band of ten years, “Danny and Alex” to release a solo album entitled “Hot Dream” which was released on November 24th.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been fairly smooth, the main struggle has been patience. It takes a long time to become an individual, especially in entertainment where seemingly everything has been done. Going through all the phases of trying to be someone you’re not until you narrow down who you are is a much longer process than one might think.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an avid music fan and a perpetual student of music history, I like dabbling in all kinds of styles and genres. I enjoy complex songs that sound simple. Classic pop hooks and chord changes, but with slightly more depth to the music and a touch of humor in the lyrics. Above all, I try to avoid cliches and ideas I’ve heard done before.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Being any kind of artist you have endless decisions to make. Creative questions, business questions, etc. But if you make choices for the right reasons and trust your intuition, things usually work out.
