Daily Inspiration: Meet Cloe Wilder

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cloe Wilder.

Hi Cloe, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am originally from Clearwater, Florida. I don’t come from a musical family, but I was always drawn to music at an early age and started taking piano lessons when I was four. When I was about 11 years old, I covered a couple of songs by Lana Del Rey. A producer had heard my covers and invited me to attend a writing camp. At the writing camp, I learned what goes into creating a song and how to write my own music. In 2018, I created my own YouTube channel and covered songs by artists like Halsey, Alessia Cara, Billie Eilish, and Sasha Sloan.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As an artist, I have to remember to stay true to who I am in the moment and being okay with who I am once the moment is over. My career is just getting started, so I try not to have regrets about anything in my life and continue moving forward. As an artist, it can be a struggle to find the right people that will support your music along the way, but sometimes the bad experiences help us get to where we want to be.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a 14-year-old indie-pop singer and songwriter. I specialize in writing my own music and creating music that is melancholic and personable, yet also relatable. I draw inspiration from Lana Del Rey, Sasha Sloan, and Lennon Stella. I released my debut EP, “Teenage Lullabies” on January 27th, 2021, and it has been really exciting.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
As a music artist, my biggest risk has been putting myself out there. It can be uncomfortable putting new music out for everyone to hear because it’s so personal, but I love sharing my art. If it helps someone else, then that is the best thing.
