Daily Inspiration: Meet Anthony Walker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Walker.

Hi Anthony, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a child, I always loved the idea of acting but was too shy to ever pursue the craft. I’d love acting out skits in class but was too shy to audition for any of the school plays. My teachers and friends would always tell me I have the personality for it. It wasn’t until college where I took a theater course that I really fell in love with the art. From there, I started taking classes professionally, met a manager and she’s been managing me ever since. I’ve got to work with some big names such as Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Taye Diggs, and Cynthia Ervio just to name a few.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely has not been a smooth road at all. In this business like most for ever yes, you may get there is 100 no’s in between. It’s also challenging that I have my own family, I’m married with two kids so finding time to be a dad, husband while still working a full-time job and pursuing my acting isn’t easy but then again there’s no easy road to success.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an actor. I’ve been blessed to be in several web series, off Broadway productions, television shows and a feature film. My most proudest moment was my first time I booked a Steven Spielberg film. 1 because it’s Spielberg and two because it was my first one. I was so young in the industry and didn’t know much about the industry but it was a breathtaking moment being on an actually movie set learning from a legend. What sets me apart from most people is my ability to continue grow and learn. Lots of people get complacent when they reach a certain level but everyday I wake up to find a way to work on my craft knowing that there’s only room for improvement,

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is just being a kid where my biggest problem was if my mom was going to let me play with my friends or not today, haha. You don’t realize all the responsibilities adults have until you become one.
