Conversations with Tyler Marie Nichols

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Marie Nichols.

Tyler Marie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
A trait you will come to understand about me is that I have my hands in any and everything I know I can thrive in, and creatively I am multi-faceted… I started my creative career as a freelance model in 2016 when everyone was shooting in Calvin K. bra and panties! Within this time, I also grew my name as a stylist, which was fitting being that I was able to shoot my own handmade clothing, which I enjoyed so much. I committed myself to my craft within these three years and was fortunate to have networked with many of the now OG’s in modeling and photography. With my now extensive experience on set, I couldn’t help but want to learn more about the other role on set I had yet to master which is the final visionary, the photographer. I linked up with most of the photographers I had worked with previously wanting to shadow them and that’s when I started a creative partnership with my good friend Mark Williams. He put me on game with all the general functions of understanding a digital camera and how to edit. I then became the Creative Director within our partnership, and man when I tell you we came up with some epic shoots, I mean it. I don’t believe he would disagree with this statement, “Together we made some of our best work to date!”.
Our work excited me to the point that I couldn’t wait till I saved a pretty coin for a camera and lenses and I got the best point-and-shoot I could find and that was my Sony. God, that camera was good to me! I creatively directed and shot all photoshoots I was involved with and it was then I knew I am was a fashion based photographer. I spent all my time searching for up and coming up-and-coming models DMing thousands and I would say during this time, I was at a peak within my self-satisfaction regarding my art. When the pandemic hit us all it was a great reset where I discovered more of my Self and talents and new talents. I worked with who I could to keep the momentum going and stay inspired but it wasn’t shortly after that where I decided to softly launch my brand Saged Dreams, a wellness brand. I sold hand-made organic/vegan body scrubs, Sage, and accessories. Saged Dreams is now understood by me as my “personal legend” as said in “The Alchemists” and I am making it my life’s mission to make it evolve my brand into a community for those who share similar interests ,to then come together and be able to shop amazing jewelry and holistic supplements, read our blogs authored by different perspectives on self-love, food, personal trauma, health, spirituality and more to bring back a sense of community within a world who’s trying to figure out what this popular term “self-love” truly is in within its rawest most unattractive way and I am here to shine a light and share my experiences with all to spark a conscious revolution.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey in life has been filled with obstacles and it is within the times that I am in the grittiness of overcoming them that I learn something new about this thing called life and how to better I’ve struggled with my self-confidence, school, self-sabotage, financially and the obstacles will continue to show their asses but I’m better equipping myself for the fight. I just remind myself that all this struggle of the present will not last and I am a resilient being!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work and what you’re most proud of?
My brand Saged Dreams is a luxury brand working with natural elements gifted to us by mother Earth; focusing on healing crystals and pearls. Both variations of these elements hold the power to aid the body, mind and/or spirit and what I want my customer to understand just by purchasing our products is that Earth has endlessly gifted humans with everything one may need in any circumstance and in previous decades we were more knowledgeable of these gifts and I would like to backtrack in this instance as a people and realize how much we owe in returning this favor by being better to our environments. To connect this all to the question “what am I most proud of?”, I would say I am most proud of me and my brand’s rooted beliefs and values. I believe everyone deserves love of self and by neighbor and when these things truly manifest humans have the ability to become divine (God-like) and if I can spread this light to just one person through our community or products then I’m fulfilling my life’s purpose in a world that has been tainted.
