Conversations with Teal Moss

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teal Moss.

Teal, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Art, Music, Film and Photography has always been elements of me. Blessed to do the things I’ve loved since childhood.

As a Photographer, I’ve worked on TV Shows, Films, Private celebrity events, and have had my work in over 30 magazines and newspapers.

As Art Director of Photography for Cue the Culture Magazine, creating art on images has been an added bonus, because I get to design from what I see to building a world around each image.

As a Musician, I’ve released music and created music for shows.

As a radio show co-host KBLA Lyric Lounge with Tosha, Teal and Ural on KBLA1580 owned by Tavis Smiley. I have so much fun dissecting song lyrics with Tosha and Ural. We get down to the bare bones of song lyrics. With recent shows Millie Jackson – Caught Up, Prince – Batman Soundtrack, Beyonce – Rennaissance, to having The Sounds of Blackness on the show reviewing some of their greatest song lyrics.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Smooth roads don’t exist. Only things that push you forward to what is ordained for you. Certain roads will have its caution signs, and how you proceed is key.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Bless to have many loves. Photography has been the staple for me. I love what I do, so there never room for boredom. Being shooting over 20 years and have photographed from the likes of, Geronimo Pratt, Public Enemy to Vice President Kamala Harris.

I’m most proud of my creativity. What I come up with thru my camera lens, to what I come up with musically when I’m recording material for French Telefone.

What sets me apart is perspective. My field of vision my POV. We all have something unique about our styles and that shines thru the work.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Consistence is key to whatever you want to do in life. It’s a daily operation, but you won’t have the same results each day. So, win, lose or draw you continue to move forward, educate yourself, and never feel that you know everything.
Be a human sponge and soak up as much information as you can.
