Conversations with Stephen Disario

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Disario.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in the South Bay and was exposed to music at a young age. My parents always blasting music in the car inspired me early on and ultimately lead me to where I am today. Hip hop was my first love and then found electronic music as a teenager. My friends and I downloaded Fruity Loops in high school and started messing around with producing but never took it on seriously until I was about 19. From there, I began signing to labels, hosting my own events, and playing shows around the country. It’s been an amazing journey thus far and I am only just getting started.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Without struggle, you cannot reach success. In my experience, we cannot grow without uncomfortable experiences and the more success you get the more things you will face. It’s learning how to navigate these struggles and adjust moving forward that helps you become even more successful in the long run… but as that continues, we will always face new challenges.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a DJ, producer, and event curator in the music industry. Mostly known for my productions and DJ sets that have gotten attention from big names across the globe, I am proud of every step of the journey so far, it’s been great connecting with like-minded people in the community and working with people that I have looked up to for years. My dynamic range in sound is what probably sets me apart, I do not like to stay inside the box and tend to break rules and take risks which is a lost art in this day in age.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Do not be afraid to ask questions and work with others. Stay consistent, don’t give up, and do it for the love!
