Conversations with Saint Sergy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Saint Sergy.

Hi Saint, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Music has always been a part and essential key of my personality since I could remember. Whether it’s been with a drum sample that’s been stuck in my head and I’ll try to mimic it, to finding and admiring a chord progression I hear in a song. Throughout my teenage years, I’ve been distracted by sports, consumed by media, etc, but it wasn’t until my depression hit when I was 17. As soon as high school was over, I hit up a friend to help me find the right mic and with that, I recorded a draft demo tape which was bad truthfully; though it taught me the most to find myself and value my art. I am 23 at this moment of time and I have learned so much throughout the years and continue to water my seeds that I planted a while ago.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are always struggles that come across this journey, whether it’s been ego or minds that couldn’t see the same view but it’s good that things with some people weren’t meant to be, as I learned how to properly distance myself from those who wouldn’t put in their part.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am “SANTI” Saint Sergy. A Mexican American Chicano living on the west coast representing my people from Jalisco, Mexico. I blend American hip hop with my Hispanic roots culture sounds to create a hybrid of personalities that represents not only who I am but those who fit the same as well.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
