Conversations with Ryan Dreyfuss

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Dreyfuss.

Ryan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my piercing apprenticeship as a high schooler growing up in Seattle, Washington. After working in the studio where I learned how to pierce for a couple of years, I then moved to Las Vegas to work with alongside other industry professionals and escape the rainy weather of Washington.

Over the time span of 11 years and with the help from some amazing clients, I was now in the position to open a piercing-only studio called Ember.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Anyone who owns a small business knows how exhausting mentally and physically it is. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, but it’s worth it.

Along my piercing career, there has been struggles that come and go, but more recent “speed bumps” in my career would be a worldwide pandemic and inflation.

Every struggle that has happened throughout my career has a solution that benefits me and my clients. That is my favorite part about business ownership; problem-solving!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Hi, My name is Ryan and I’m a Body Piercer! 👋🏼 I have been piercing for eleven years now, and over time that I have gained a following of amazing clients that come to me for a service called Ear Styling.

This is a service where I combine existing ear piercings & new ones to create balance and flow throughout the entire ear with cohesive jewelry designs.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Over my nine years in Las Vegas, the city has grown not only in its number of buildings but people as well. This isn’t so great for traffic, but we now have a stronger community than ever!

This community supports each other and allows small business to thrive in a city where they weren’t designed to.
