Conversations with Paul Vargas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Vargas.

Hi Paul, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a Salvadoran/Colombian musician, artist, record producer who migrated to the US in December 2017. It was my first time ever to be in Los Angeles, of course I decided to stay. Figure things out that made me and built my character throughout experiences being a foreigner in such a diverse city, which culture I was definitely not used to it. Regardless, slowly music started to open my doors to fulfill the vision.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not a smooth road. Not in music business, and not as a foreigner either, is a different type of road, you really need to know your business, move wisely, and figure out things, there are certain privileges that are taken off you, so hustle is a daily habit, nevertheless blessed, things always end working out, but immigration personally has been a big hassle. I think it is a big hassle for a lot of Hispanic families across the USA.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a musician, music/record producer, audio engineer that is currently pursuing his recording artist and record producer career. I am most proud of my roots, my journey, and who I am, all those experiences that are been shown in my music. I believe the mix of my Salvadoran/Colombian roots takes a huge part on who I am, my accent, slang, thought process, experiences and being a foreigner with a different perspective outside living the US now living in the US, I believe is what helps me create opportunities as my journey continues.

What matters most to you? Why?
Self-care. Mental-health.

I believe if those three matters are taken care of well, you obtain the freedom and power you need to do and manifest all you want.
