Today we’d like to introduce you to Key Miles.
Key, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
About a year ago I was still having trouble sitting still from the passing of my dad. I was always pretty antsy, but the need for adventure grew stronger in the pandemic. I was having a hard time being in the house. My parents were both travelers in their own ways. My dad was Mr. LA. He loved everything about this city, attended every event and was very well connected in the party scene. My mom on the other hand was the more spontaneous one. She loved weekend road trips to surrounding cities on the weekends. We would pack a bag and end up in Palm Springs for the weekend. Even though my parents were not together, I pulled a little from each one. As far as IG goes, around this time last year, I was posting things I thought would be helpful for people to find safe ways to explore California safely in a pandemic. The more I shared these gems and locations the more feedback I got. I would get numerous messages encouraging me to become a blogger. I thought the idea was so far fetch and would reply that “this is my life”, and that had always been a “blogger” without being a “blogger”. lol. Fast forward a few months… I started meeting “like-minded” travelers/adventure buddies/bloggers and the rest is history.
Meeting up with so many like-minded people online to explore new venues and spots has been life-changing. I found my people. It’s almost like “match.com” for friends. it’s cool to meet unique peers with the same interest. We all have our own stories but it’s beautiful what has been created just by meeting up with some of these fellow bloggers. Still to this day I just say that I’m not trying to get rich from being an influencer, but hey… I love the work coming my way. I just don’t think of it as work because I love it. I love going out and meeting new people. I love reviewing/checking out places. I love introducing my followers to places in our own backyard. people don’t get out enough. I try to find things for people to do in LA and surrounding cities without hopping on a plane to do it. Most people like to live their best life on vacation. Every weekend or every day of could be a vacation or staycation… Even after work, it’s nice to check out a different place to eat, or even maybe watch the sunset at the beach on a random Tues. I just want people to live. Not just watch me live life. I try to get people to explore with me. It helped me so much mentally, that I feel if I’ve touched a few people then I’m doing what I am supposed too. Thanks so much for your time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been smooth because I expect nothing less. I don’t set high expectations. I just try to stay true to myself and remain humble.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m actually a hairstylist by trade. that is my job that is how I earned a living.
I am most proud of my three daughters and my loving husband.
What sets me apart from others is I operate at face value. you get what you get. my life is exactly what I display online. the good the bad and the ugly. I def wear my heart on my sleeves. I’m very honest and very passionate.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People usually reach out to me asking to meet up or go to lunch or pick my brain or just be in my space. I’m the “life of the party”. It’s funny because I’m super shy but comfortable around the right people if that makes any sense.
People can support me by joining me on adventures or sharing my post, tagging their friends to check out my recommendations, etc.
