Today we’d like to introduce you to William Deloney.
Hi William, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a family man, illustrator, graphic designer, and creator of brand called Divine Image Apparel. I’m from The Greater Los Angeles Area but I have lived all over Southern California.
I am a creative person and I’ve always had a vivid imagination. I started illustrating and creating original cartoon characters when I was 4 years old. As an artist, fashion lover, and man of faith. I’ve always wanted to merge my passions together.
A few years ago, I started brainstorming about a faith-based clothing line with meaning and purpose. I was able to combine my love for art, fashion, and faith into a business. I’m a music lover too. You will see some positive hip hop messages interspersed in my designs a well. I aim to inspire others to be confident and bold in their faith, while pursuing their dreams. That’s how my apparel company came about.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been struggles, I am a husband and father who is wearing many hats. Building a clothing brand is not easy. I have to work a few jobs, stay consistent in business, and provide for my family. On top of all that I juggle, I am full-time Graphic Design and Digital Media student at Cal Baptist University.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My company is Divine Image Apparel. It is a clothing brand that encourages believers to be courageous and passionate about their faith in God.
It is unique because I illustrate and design everything myself. All of the clothing, and accessories have a biblical message. My illustrations generally have vibrant colors and always convey a positive message. The original illustrations on the clothing truly makes the brand stand out. I’m thankful for the opportunity to do what I love, and make an impact at the same time. It is truly a blessing!
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I envision Divine Image Apparel being a brick and mortar store. I would love to expand and reach people all across the globe. I can see people from various backgrounds wearing our clothes and accessories.
I would also love to take my design and illustration talent to another level. I’m excited to advance in that industry and share my work with a large audience.
