Conversations with Vanessa Averion

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Averion.

Hi Vanessa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been into corporate events for 14 years and eight years for weddings and special events.

I love interacting to people and be involved in any kind of activity. I am a Mass Communication graduate in Far Eastern University. And since then I would really like to be into TV or Entertainment industry. When I moved here in Los Angeles, my role switched into more administrative work. I also had an opportunity to work in the hotel at downtown. That makes me more enthusiastic to do wedding events. I love setting up events and coordinating the timeline to the vendors and the bride and groom. I enjoyed bringing the vision of the bride and groom to life from preparation up to the couple’s big day. I loved to hear their feedback esp. when the newlyweds are satisfied with the result.

Being a wedding coordinator requires a lot of patience, dedication and you need to really love what you are doing. It is a combination of physical and mental work. This career brings out the best in me. From my creativity to being flexible and artistic. I enjoyed every event I handled! It gives me an uplift spirit and joy every time I go accomplished one event!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It is not easy, there are so many challenges from the client-side to the venue and vendors but it is all about the manner on how you react on those challenging situation! I learned that all conflicts has a solution. You just need to take it easy and do not panic. That way you can think of the best solution.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
I am a follower of positives thinking! If you are planning to do something or starting your career! Do not wait or hold back! It may not be easy at the beginning but if you have a goal and set a timeline I am sure will you be able to meet your goal! Focus patience, and perseverance are major keys!
