Today we’d like to introduce you to Rod Jonas.

Rod Jonas has more than 15 years of diverse experience building brands, creating go-to-market strategies, and launching social media and influencer campaigns for a wide range of industries—from health & fitness, food & beverage, and fashion to entertainment, direct sales, service, and non-profit. What he does best: Building core loyal communities within a brand that organically drive social momentum and exponentially multiply monetary value around the company, its leaders and its products/services. In corporate, agency and consulting roles, Rod has primarily worked with ‘Shark Tank’ startups, small-to-medium B2C companies, and major brands (i.e., Rainbow Sandals) as well as high-level executives, athletes, celebrities and influencers in creating, differentiating and elevating their brands across all media platforms. Over a decade in all types of creating marketing roles has built (and proven!) his expertise in Visual Content Strategy, Lifestyle & Personal Branding, and Organic Social Growth.

Rod is currently the Founder & President of TKO Branding, a creative branding agency that services SMB companies, lifestyle platforms, non-profits and influencers. In his role, he oversees all the new business initiatives, growth strategies and partner alliances and focuses on helping clients bring brands to life in ways that drive consumer action. Career highlights include helping to turn the World of Dance (the world’s largest dance company) into a full-scale media company and an industry powerhouse through targeted content strategies, visual branding, mass communication plans, and social viral campaigns. Other proud milestones and moments in his career story are the times he ran production (video & audio) for several TEDx Talk events in minority communities, as well as every mentorship opportunity he’s had to guide youths in pursuing their potential. Self-driven and guided by his personal philosophy to ‘Live with Purpose and Intent,’ Rod has honed his brand storytelling skills in all areas of video production, social media marketing, digital photography, and journalism. In fact, he’s an avid photographer, specializing in capturing the essence of people and landscapes on camera, as well as freelance journalist. Ask him to tell you about how he once created his own magazine and won the MAGGIE Award.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I’ve experienced many challenges along the way that have made me question my commitment to my dreams and goals. From multiple clients losing their funding simultaneously to my private investor being unable to fulfill their commitment to their installment agreements not to mention the employee and contractor issues I experienced along the way, the road has been far from smooth.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My passion for creativity began as a child. I use to draw and take pictures as a hobby when I wasn’t playing sports. By the time I was in college, my creativity was channeled into my career aspirations of being a marketing guru. As I embarked on my career with a philosophy of “Just play and when you’re good enough people will pay you to play”, working while taking on start-up projects became the norm. As I began to achieve success with a few projects, my talent became desired by higher-profile people and companies. Fortunately, as I began to excel in marketing, branding and creative content social media was first trending so I used social media professionally before I began to use it personally. For this reason, I have always thought different about its application to our lives.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Be relentless in the pursuit of your dreams while holding on to this truth, “Live with balance, for to sacrifice the present for an uncertain future is fools gold”.
