Conversations with Moe Diaoune

Today we’d like to introduce you to Moe Diaoune.

Moe, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Creative of the brand and movement straight out of the motherland. I started spreading brand awareness through the streets of New York selling t-shirts & hoodies out the trunk. Then, updated my process. My distribution method started off with dropping off t-shirts and hoodies off to customers to organizing my very own pop up shop, filled with youth and young adults from the tri-state area. Straight out of the motherland is a movement built through design to represent each native’s country. Straight out of the motherland is two years in and its message and clothing has been growing in New York. Now, a creative plan to carry the movement to Los Angeles, CA.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I believe nothing you plan to do will always be sweet and smooth but the thought of creating a lane and following it will always have bumps waiting for you. For me, it’s understanding that you’re going to run into a couple of them. I try to stay prepared for rough roads and come up with a solution when they do pop up. The Main Challenge of running The Movement & Brand Straight Out Of the Motherland is growing the idea globally, showing the world its message to more than where the brand was birthed. The beauty of the challenge is, where do I start?

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
