Conversations with Laina Caltagirone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laina Caltagirone.

Hi Laina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up in Tampa, Florida and went to college at Tulane University. After, I decided to follow in my fathers footsteps and become an attorney. I went to University of Miami Law, passed the bar, started practicing law, and soon realized that this was not my passion.

Until this point, I’d taken a path that was recognized by society as the “right path”, the “smart and responsible thing to do”. Everything looked good on paper yet I was not fulfilled. I began a journey of figuring out getting to know myself more – who I was, what I valued, what I loved, what I believed in, and what I wanted for my life. I started studying personal development and spirituality. I became so fascinated with the mind, how it works and influences your life, and learned how powerful this “inner work” was. As I began to shift and start to find happiness and more peace, I realized that THIS is the work I wanted to do. I became certified in Neurolinguistic Programming as a motivational life coach, studied under spiritual teachers, and started a side business to share what id learned with the world. Soon I was at a crossroads and could either stay on the path I was on with law or follow my heart. I decided to jump full-time in my passion and move to LA.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of teaching thousands of people all over the world, creating digital classes and programs and an international spiritual manifestation retreat in Tulum called Soulcation, grew to corporate coaching and consulting on integrating wellness into the culture, and privately coached others from high-level executives to world-renowned music artists – helping them explore their inner world and tap into their best selves. It’s been such a fulfilling journey and I am so grateful to God for it all. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me and plan to spread these messages worldwide.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I’d say smooth but with struggles for sure! Entrepreneurship has been the biggest personal growth experience of all time! It wasn’t easy being in a profession for five years (nine years if you include school) and then starting from scratch in something new. I’ve had to learn technical things like building websites, creating copy, building digital courses, selling (still a struggle), pricing, social media, email systems, video/audio, etc. Which has been a lot but the most challenging thing to me was learning to believe in myself. I’ve had times where it felt like it wasn’t working – for instance working hard and putting my heart into a program, launching it, and having one person sign up. I’ve had times where money is pouring in and times where it’s so not. And all throughout that, it’s so tempting to turn back or feel somethings wrong with you, and it takes everything to stand strong in your mission and dig deep to still believe in yourself and trust god despite circumstances telling you otherwise.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I run a personal and spiritual development company. Personally, I do private coaching, lead group programs, teach online classes, offer digital self-study programs, and consulting for corporations. The areas covered are: manifestation, empowerment, power of mindset, wellness, spirituality, life transitions, mindfulness, stress and anxiety relief, love/relationships, finding your purpose, money, and spiritual business (helping others who want to do similar work to my own). Essentially all things to be happier, live and create a life you love, and expand beyond what you think is possible. I’m most proud of the fact that this work is profound and has a massive ripple effect. One sentence, one “ah-ha” moment can completely shift you and change your perspective and thus experience in life. People become happier, less anxious, more confident, more empowered, and just in a better energy – then they begin attracting better things into their life. People feel that they want to be around it, and it ripples out benefiting everyone around them. What sets me apart is that my legal and business background and my certification in NLP bring a very grounded real approach to concepts that are often considered too “out there” and aren’t taken seriously due to societal stigmas. I aim to modernize and normalize personal and spiritual growth and make it easily accessible and effective for all.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
First and foremost, God. I have a very real relationship with Him and He moves through my life powerfully. Without that connection, I wouldn’t have the strength, courage or knowledge to do any of this. He’s def guiding it all. I have had so many teachers, coaches, friends in my industry who have been by my side and such an integral part to my growth. My family – despite probably being nervous about me moving away and starting new in a little-known career and industry – were nothing but supportive and encouraging and would do anything to see me succeed. It was challenging for all of us for me to leave behind our family law firm and move across the country. I couldn’t and wouldn’t have done it without their blessing and love. They’re everything to me. My boyfriend is an endless source of love, support and encouragement too. We actually went to law school together and ten years later, started dating. He’s my daily motivator and seeing his success inspires me.
