Conversations with the Inspiring Robin Banchik

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robin Banchik.

Robin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started making jewelry at 15 years old. I was given an opportunity later to attend a professional jewelry design class. I attended an art school and got my degree in Metal Arts. I also attended Gemological Institute of America and am certified as a Graduate Gemologist.

My sense of design was learned through living and making lots of jewelry. Some stunning and some not so good.

Has it been a smooth road?
The escalating market for precious metal and gemstones has been a challenge. Trying to keep our product in line with the current cost of materials. Social media has also been a challenge, but one of our staff has now become an expert!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Crystalarium and story. Tell us more about the business.
All of our jewelry is one of a kind and handmade in our West Hollywood store. We use all natural colored gemstones and we own one of the best collection of gems and minerals in the U.S.

We make things you’ll not see elsewhere. One of our products is The Vessal. It’s a container made from a hollowed gemstone and precious metal. People buy them to put anything in them from Blessing pills from the Dalai Lama, medications, affirmations and reliquary. A beautiful way to keep something meaning in a safe a beautiful way and always with you.

Do you have any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general? What has worked well for you?
