Conversations with the Inspiring Kristin Reveles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Reveles.

Kristin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my blog and influencing because we moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a year and a half for my husband’s business. I wanted to start blogging about our life out there and show people that there was more to Mexico besides the bad reputation it has gotten in the past few years.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
When I started my blog and influence, I didn’t know a lot about it and what would even come of it and how to start but I did so much research. I didn’t really have anyone I could help me until later, I reached out to another bigger blogger, she has helped me so much now and I trust her opinion and now, I call her my big sister, as I feel I can go to her for blogging advice, but personal advice as well.

I would say try to find someone that you know that will be helpful and supportive that is what the key is, even if it’s a significant other, family member or friend. I am thankful for my husband and friends who have seen my journey grow and that are so supportive of me. I don’t know what I would do without all the support I get my the ones I love.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
So, when I first started blogging, I was living in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and I shared about other locations and towns that we would visit because like I really wanted to be able to show the beauty of Mexico and local towns. I wanted people to know that it a safe and beautiful country and I hoped that they saw the same beauty as I have seen.

If anything sets me apart from others is that I’m genuine and what you see is what you get. I try my best to be kindhearted to others and go out of my way. In this influencer/blogging game, you see who is real and who isn’t and I have learned that in this past year and I try my best to stay true to myself and I know I never wanted to be like those others because I know that isn’t who I am.

A few things that I have put a lot of heart into right now is supporting small, local businesses and charitable organizations. I have been there when my husband started his business, helped him and saw it grow. I know the heart a person puts into their business, so I always want to be there and support those that do the same.
Charitable organizations because I know I wanted to use my influence whether big or small for the good of others, even if I wasn’t doing this influencer/blogger career, I would still do those charitable acts because I don’t think my heart wouldn’t let me.

Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
For anyone that would love to start blogging, research as much as you can, find out what you love and share that with others. Do not compare yourself either, like in life, we shouldn’t compare ourselves to others because it will only get you down. If you are too worried about what others are doing, then you aren’t in the right place and need to rethink what you are doing. Don’t do it because you want to get paid, get free stuff, etc., this is hard work and I do this as a full-time job. The more heart and hard work you put into it, it will pay off later.

Your heart and mind have to be in the right place to do anything that you love but also make sure you have fun too!

It takes a lot of spunk and hard work to get out there and show the world who you are and what your about!! Kristen is an example to follow because it all started with her and it takes day by day effort to project the image and be genuine as well and more than anything to not get down on herself when things don’t go the right way and yet she has to make it work !! Having confidence like that is admirable and I give her a lot of credit for that!! Keeping that passion is what sets a person apart and sets the momentum for success!!!! Go Kristen!!
