Conversations with the Inspiring Kenza Sadoun el Glaoui

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenza Sadoun el Glaoui.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I graduated in Technology and Tertiary Sciences with a major in Communication. Wondering what type of studies I could do, I embarked on an AFL specializing in English/Italian. That wasn’t made for me, so I gave up after two weeks. Then, typical scenario, I took jobs during the next nine months.

The next autumn I was admitted after a competitive exam at the Itaim/IEJ journalism school, I studied there for six months and after an internship at Numéro magazine and other small missions in the fashion world, I decided to break away from the student life even before having graduated, and to throw myself into the adult life. I’ve been an assistant in a photo production company, I also represented fashion photographers and in parallel, I founded my blog in 2008: La Revue de Kenza ( Then one fine day, alongside all my activities, as I was missing journalism I decided to send my resume to fashion magazines. From that moment, I started to write piecework rate. Meanwhile, from time to time, I was in charge of the styling in fashion editorials. From now on and since 2010, I only devote time to my blog and to social networks that became my full-time job!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I didn’t know any particular obstacle because I was one of the first to write a fashion blog in France. It’s today, 10 years later, that I have to succeed to stand out despite all the blogs that are born on the Internet.

An advice? To be loyal to who you are, to be sincere in writing, to post as regularly as possible and above all, to respond to comments of your followers.

I blog because… I’m addicted to this exchange with my readers. And this is a dream that I lived for several years in traveling, discovering new brands, and working with new people constantly.

What should we know about La Revue de Kenza? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m the owner of a fashion blog, a YouTube channel and I am really active on all social networks (Instagram, etc).

I speak mainly about fashion and beauty, but travel or sport and well-being too.

I started with a fashion blog 10 years ago and I am very proud to have a community that is always faithful to me although I talk about other topics.

These people grew up with me!

Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
The only one that really inspired me is my mother.

She made herself and is head of two companies in the world of advertising and photography.

She is a real worker, who doesn’t count her hours, and just like me, even if she complains about running out of time, she’s addicted to her job.

This is a great example of success for someone who has dropped out of school.
