Conversations with Drakkar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Drakkar.

Hi Drakkar, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
It started with me and my cousin Freestyling in my garage, but before that I was already writing poems and rhymes since about eight years old. But yeah me and my cousin would freestyle all around the house and make YouTube videos. Some of those YouTube videos got picked up by a childhood friend of mine; we went to the same school but he was older, he then introduced me to a music group he was a part of and ever since then, I’ve been taking things more serious.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been smooth sometimes I struggled with just finding a ride to the studio, other things I struggled on were marketing (still to this day) or sometimes I struggle just trying to get all my eggs in one basket and making sure the release rollout is on point. There are other things but I mean learning all these things is what it takes and it’s been worth it so far. Our time is coming sooner than later.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Not going to get into my job but I work a regular day job. Nothing really sets me apart from others I’m the same person I used to be more wiser less immature but that kid still lives in me. The only thing that makes me stand out from others is I make music, but of course I’m not the only one. I’m mostly proud of how far me and the team have come, making a household name for ourselves in our community.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was young wild and free ALL THE TIME always kind to others and always willing to listen to others in need my first love was drawing I thought I’d chase after an animation career until music found me.
