Conversations with Eugene Rice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eugene Rice.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Well, it’s quite a long story but I moved out here about ten years ago from Vermont. I’ve been playing music since I was a child, pretty much how I got where I am was a series of random events a hand full of luck and making as few enemies as possible.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
no way, hahaha I was living in my rehearsal studio, my van in places infested with roaches ate every cold canned food you could imagine… and that’s the tip of the iceberg but I think the struggle is what’s made me

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I write and play southern rock/country in a band called American mile. I guess I’m most proud of playing and headlining the Idaho potato drop its a new year I’ll never forget. I think just who I am as a person sets me apart also the harmony vocals and guitar solos.

How do you think about happiness?
I mean so many things I’d say I’m a pretty happy guy. But what makes me the happiest is playing in front of a crowded room there is no other high like it on this planet.
