Community Highlights: Meet Rhonelee Soria, Stephanie Wright, and Efren Renon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhonelee Soria, Stephanie Wright, and Efren Renon.

Hi Rhonelee, Stephanie, and Efren, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Moving away from Hawaii, we know how special it feels to receive care packages from family and friends. We created Aloha Method to provide that service for those who don’t have that local connection. “I’d go to Hawaii at least twice a year and return to work with a bunch of my favorite island snacks to share like furikake chex mix and school kine cookies. It was such a great feeling to introduce these snacks and have my coworkers rave about them throughout the week. Since quite a few haven’t been to Hawaii, it was the “aloha spirit” way to bring Hawaii to them. Aloha Method is all about sharing the experience.” – Rhonelee Soria. “Living on the mainland now, I appreciate the snacks that my family and friends would bring me when they visit from Hawaii. I like being able to share the snacks that I grew up eating with the new people I meet here.” – Efren Renon. “Initially, we created Aloha Method to help those who were homesick. But Aloha Method is more than that. We want to share and spread the lifestyle of the aloha spirit around the world. It’s that feeling of being welcomed, that feeling of being a part of an Ohana.” – Stephanie Wright. To us, aloha is more than a greeting. It’s a way of life and a special feeling that is meant to be shared. Our mission is to share the aloha spirit not just with those who have moved away but with new friends who have yet to experience what Hawaii is all about.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our biggest challenges are juggling the business with our full-time jobs and finding affordable island snacks to introduce every quarter. As most snacks from Hawaii are on the more expensive end, we have to be really creative with our budget. Digital marketing during the pandemic has also been a constant challenge.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We specialize in custom care packages from Hawaii. They’re currently called “ono snack packs.” Ono means delicious!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
We’re 90s kids at heart and love bringing back old school toys from our “hanabata days” (childhood days in Hawaii). In our recent care packages, we created custom POGs for our customers and included jacks. They were a hit!
