Community Highlights: Meet Mira Rocca

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mira Rocca.

Hi Mira, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I became a Psychotherapist because I was always drawn to hearing people’s stories. Hearing about their growing up stories. Hearing about what messages they picked up as they were growing up. I then gravitated to working with teens and kids. Feeling like if I could help them find their voice and feel safe in their bodies early on, they can have an opportunity to live life independently from their growing up story. Fast Forward a bit to when I found out I was pregnant with my first daughter, and everything shifted for me! Something woke up in me. It was a knowing and a desire to show up better for myself. To truly BE the human I wanted my daughter to look up to. I needed to love my body more, to begin to accept the parts of me that I was mad at, upset with, uncomfortable in. It was time for me to heal old wounds and create a gentler pathway for my life! There was a knowing it was my time to grow and evolve differently! For the last 14 years, I have been deeply passionate about helping females heal their relationships with themselves, their bodies, and their growing up story. I am also Equine Therapy Certified. Working with Animal energy creates a beautiful pathway for humans to heal their own trauma and storyline.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This path has not been an easy one, but it is definitely feeling easier and easier everyday. The work I do has really forced me to live my own life in full integrity to what I teach. To honor my truth and my flow of life without judgment or comparisons to how others live. Each time I held space for a client to speak their truth and feel vulnerable, I stretched even more to do the same for myself. Creating a trusting relationship with my body and my heart continues to give me permission to live life with this integrity and a deep inner knowing. As I continue to grow and evolve, I hold space for my clients to go even deeper within their own work. I feel that I am creating a bridge between science and spirituality as I hold an even deeper space for clients to truly inhabit their bodies and live their best life with their hearts wide open.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a Licensed Integrative Psychotherapist and Healer deeply passionate about helping women heal their relationship with food, their body, and their growing up story. Being a Mom and in a Partnered Relationship, I feel that my ability to balance life and live in deep integrity sets me apart from many people who are simply living life on Auto-Pilot. I feel proud of all that I have grown through in my years that has brought me to this exact moment of life. I offer individualized programs for people to have the best support for their growth and change.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
My family immigrated from Lithuania when I was three years old. My parents were extremely hard-working, driven, and motivated humans. Growing up, I remember being a pretty mellow kid. I loved playing outside, bike riding with the kids in the neighborhood, and making up fun dancing with my friends. Since the fourth grade, I wanted to be an eye surgeon. I was fascinated with eyeballs. After started out as a pre-med major, I quickly found myself mesmerized by the study of psychology. Learning about human behavior, history, genetics, and everything in between, I realized it wasn’t eye’s that I was fascinated with but the depth behind them.
