Community Highlights: Meet Madeline Moore of Meals by Maddie / Moore To It

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeline Moore.

Madeline, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am the owner of Meals by Maddie, a private meal prep service. I also model and am a part-owner of Let’s Grow Podcast and LiMa Fit.

I started my meals prep business in April 2017 after losing 40 lbs the previous year. Back then, I was an event planner and didn’t make time to workout and was eating really bad. I decided then to join a gym and switch up my diet. My best friend and roomie asked if I could meal prep for her, not being the best cook I was a little nervous but decided for extra income, I would and decided to teach myself how to make more recipes for us both. As time went on, I posted as “Meals by Maddie” as a joke on my Instagram and slowly started to get responses back about wanting my preps from a lot of friends and people from my gym. I decided to take on a few clients and when I was laid off from my event planning job, took it on full time.

After losing 40 lbs, I really enjoyed getting to do nutrition coaching outside of physically prepping the meals for my clients. I then decided in 2020 to take my business out of St. Louis, MO and to move it to LA.

The best part of moving cross country was moving to a better demographic in this field and also to be closer to the model industry. There are way more opportunities out here and a lot more like-minded people so it’s been a really great transition for me as a young professional.

In my spare time, I enjoy going to church, working on my podcast, investing in other side incomes, spending time with girlfriends, and going to the beach. I am working on a new venture with my best friend Lindsey with fitness and nutrition coaching/ content that will be offered thru LiMa Fit soon!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur is really hard! People don’t understand unless they’ve experienced it truly. I have had to gamble a lot to be where I am with having an income. Especially being in a business where I have to find a solid client base who orders my food regularly. Or on the model side, where I have to hustle to find work and stay fit.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is technically called Moore To It Inc. and has the two different branches of what I do. One is the private Meals by Maddie, Meal prep service and the other half is the modeling side.

Meals by Maddie is a personalized nutrition coaching service where I learn about my client and their goals and tailor their meal plan to what they need. I would say what’s cool about my business is that I don’t add additives to my food and can make organic options as well. I am slowly adding in some vegan options as well which I’m super excited about!

I really pride myself on helping people with their goals so that is why I’ve stayed small and private for so long. My goal here over the course of this year is to be able to expand outside of general LA area and offer delivery in outside areas.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I think that in general a lot of people are surprised to find out I’ve owned my meal prep business for six years! A lot of people in la who are models don’t do what I do so I think that’s been a huge culture shock when I tell people I do both haha!
