Community Highlights: Meet Jasmine Williams-King of Your Food Code

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Williams-King.

Hi Jasmine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My start in the culinary world began in 2015, my sophomore year of high school. It’s something I’d had an interest for at a young age, so it felt right when I decided I wanted this to be a career for me. This same year I had been accepted into a new Performing Arts School on the Southside of Atlanta. They had many different pathways from Aviation to Photography and Construction, I chose Culinary. Here, until I graduated, I was exposed to all the ins & outs of working in a state-of-the-art kitchen, the importance of cleanliness in the workplace, time management, and so much more.

The following year I decided to sell plates at school on a weekly basis & got nothing but good reviews from my peers, even my teachers. This prompted me to really tap into my creativity & see how far I could go. My first job was at the only fine dining and award-winning establishment located in Hartsfield-Jackson Int’l Airport, One Flew South. Everything I learned here put me on another level—knowledge & business-wise about the Culinary Industry & I couldn’t have been more appreciative.

Over the four years I spent there, I’d been shown how to operate in a professional setting with others, how a successful restaurant is run, working at a fast pace in different settings, and creating dishes that separated me from others. This made my transition into becoming a Personal Chef & Caterer very organic. My business, YourFoodCode, is in its second year now & every day I’m motivated to go even harder. My goal is to be not just an elite chef but a powerful businesswoman and future restaurant owner.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Any business owner will tell you nothing’s ever obtained easily, and I’m no different. My biggest obstacles/struggles were juggling school while I was trying to get my business started and traveling for work solo, without a team.

As you know, we’re big fans of Your Food Code. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a Personal Chef & Caterer from Atlanta, Georgia. I specialize in Southern Cuisine while putting my own creative spin on things. I’m most known for my signature pasta dishes, sweets & lemonades. What continues to set me apart from others is my ability to elevate, I never want to be in the same lane as others. I take pride in being incomparable to others while still being myself with my clients.

I’m most proud of not only how far I’ve come, but all of the different people I’ve cooked for & things I learned along the way. I want readers to know that when booking with me, I’m dedicated to giving you a memorable dining experience.
