Community Highlights: Meet Jane Owen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jane Owen.

Jane, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was lucky enough to be born in New York City but raised in Europe, and have enjoyed the privileges of dual nationality. I started my career in PR in London where I was lucky enough to be mentored by a legendary publicist called Joan Rolls. We worked with luxury brands like Van Cleef & Arpels.

I moved to the United States at the age of 22 and worked in LA and New York for excellent PR companies till I started my own company. I have had ups and downs along the way but I’m glad to say we have always achieved great results and all our clients are referrals from other happy clients. Many of our clients have been with us for years. In fact, I have a current client that I started working with when I was 25 at a different company and who left with me when I started out on my own. I think one of the best indicators of success is longevity.

PR is more an art form than a science and it’s hard to guarantee anything. However, I can always guarantee hard work and honesty.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been many bumps along the road. We were doing a huge amount of Live events when Covid19 hit and as you can imagine that work dried up overnight. However, we were really lucky that we were able to pivot and concentrate on traditional Press and promotion for our clients. Although we stopped doing events for a while, we were able to concentrate on the roots of PR which is pitching and press releases and communication. Our clients on the show Selling Sunset on Netflix are one example of what kept us busy and motivated to get through it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a boutique PR firm with International reach and presence. I am happy to say that we are competitors with the biggest PR firms in the world. We often work with Governments, Fortune 500 brands and publicly traded companies. We are currently completing a job for the Chilean Government for example. However, we are just as likely to work with a start-up, an individual or a charity. We are extremely diverse and happy to be so. We love cross printing clients. Also, every client has my personal contact information, which I think is very important. I work with a team but the buck stops with me.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
It’s important to stay up to date so I try to read as much as possible. Everything from BBC news to Page Six.

  • Our basic packages start as low as $2000 a month and go as high as $20,000
